My Dad really encouraged me with Maths.
I completed an honours degree in mathematics from Durham University.
I then gained a Postgraduate certificate of education PGCE teaching qualification from Homerton College Cambridge and started a teaching career. I've worked to pass on a love of maths as a teacher in UK primary schools taking school-wide responsibility for mathematics.
I was privileged to get even closer to the learning teaching for eight years in a UK special school. I had first hand experience of supporting maths learning for children with different neurodiverse conditions
I have been a member of the british association of teachers of Mathematics and led courses for teachers.
I'm passionate about maths learning and I'm really concerned that so many children come to feel that they are no good at maths.
Science has shown that every one of us can learn maths to the highest level. We need to change the culture around maths learning. Currently I am developing Numberchase as the best resource for fun maths activities to empower families to help their children with maths and offer individual programs of maths learning to students from starting school level to A level.
